Park Chan-wook is a South Korean film director, an auteur known for these films in addition to Joint Security Area, I'm a Cyborg But That's OK, Thirst, The Handmaiden and the (at time of recording) upcoming Decision to Leave. He is known for combining strikingly beautiful visuals with heavy themes and often intense, graphic violence.
